The idea is still being kicked around.  Basically it would mean that the 
wxGraphicsContext backend used for the wxGTK port would become available 
for all platforms, and there would be a way to explicitly select it 
instead of the native GC backend for the platform.

P.S.  If I'm able to get all the ducks to line up in a nice row I may 
have a surprise related to this in the next release.
