Mike, and others, thanks for all the pointers.
The point of this project, is not so much a "game" but to get a handle
on wxPython for now. I am also doing a gstreamer based video capture
application, which is more to the point.
I have gotten the full screen bit working now, and am almost done now,
just figuring out how to replace the images displayed in the panel
instead of stacking them on top of each other.
This is just a quickie for a 2 year old key bashing maniac, so don't
really want to get into a fully fledged gaming dev scenario where it is
not really necessary at this time. When I decide (if ever) to write a
real game, I will look deeper into PyGame et al.
Thanks and will let you all know when I make a release for critique...
