are you sure you want to go with wxPython 2.6, rather than 2.8? 2.8 has 
been out for a while...

You don't need to uninstall -- just use the installers you find here:

http://www.wxpython.org/download.php#binaries

that will give you wxPython2.8, which you should probably be using 
anyway, but it you really need 2.6, poke around the sourceforge download 
site, you should be able to find an installer there, or you can get one 
here:

http://www.pythonmac.org/packages/py25-fat/index.html

Either one should set itself up as the default wxPython, so there is no 
need to mess with anything already installed (and you really don't want 
to mess with anything Apple installed anyway)
