AUI_MDI page change event

I am playing around with the AUI_MDI example from the demo and was hoping t=
o detect page change events;
I tried this by binding wx.aui.EVT_AUINOTEBOOK_PAGE_CHANGED but cannot seem=
 to make it work!

Is it possible to detect this event?
or am I off with the fairies or both.
