I am a big fan of txt2tags. A simple tool that converts wiki-like text
to HTML files, LATEX or numerous other formats.
What I like about is that it remains all plain text, and the end
result is customizable. I type faster in plain text not having to
worry about formatting too much. It is a python tool and also
x-platform.
