Well, it might be argued that a checkbox displayed in the
Enabled(False) state should NOT entice the user to click it.

Using Enabled(False) would also relay a message to the user:

"Uh, that seems checkable - though since it's disabled
 there's bound to be some other precondition for it being
 checkable."
