The place you submitted it is fine.  Those patches you see in the list 
are old ones that I didn't apply for whatever reason, and haven't 
deleted yet.  The ones that have already been applied and closed are not 
in the list by default.

I also use the patch tracker at sourceforge for the wxWidgets project, 
(and that is where I prefer bug reports to be made because much of the 
time they are actually wxWidgets bugs, not wxPython.)  That tracker is 
much more active but anything that is categorized as wxPython specific 
is automatically assigned to me.
