$50 question : wx.AuiNotebook problem

wx.AuiNotebook appears to have a method "GetAuiManager".

However, when I use it to try to restore a layout (perspective), it doesn't do 
anything

I offer $50 via VISA or PayPal (or donation to Robin) to the first person who 
can provide me with a working example of a wx. AuiNotebook or wx.AuiMDIxxx or 
whatever that does the following:

1.) panels are added to a notebook like object (as in AUI_MDI demo)
2.) user can drag notebook pages same way as in the wxPython demo for AUI_MDI
3.) perspective is saved (eg via menu)
..
4.) program is restarted, panels are added programmatically as in 1.)
5.) perspective is loaded (eg via menu) -> perspective (screen layout) is 
restored.

If this is not simply me unable to understand the documentation and some work 
is needed to modify / extend the wxPython AUI classes, then I double this 
offer.

If more work is needed than anybody is prepared to do for $100, please contact 
me first and we can discuss terms.

All replies with answers perhaps to this list - probably more than just me 
interested in an answer, and that way there won't be any disputes as to who 
answered it first
