Unicode versus Ansi - download page confusing

Hi,

Could someone please remind me why there are still ANSI downloads?
Shouldn't everyone be using the unicode version of wxPython by now?

The download page is confusing, as it says "Not sure if you should use
the ANSI or Unicode version? Read here for more info.", but then the
page referred to doesn't help the user make a decision about which build
to choose, it just explains how Unicode is handled in Python and wxPython.

I'm basically asking this because it seems like lots of Windows users in
particular are choosing the ANSI version, perhaps merely because it is
listed first, and then having to reinstall with the unicode version in
order to work with their databases in Dabo.

So... what are some reasons why a Windows XP or Vista user would choose
ANSI over Unicode?

Paul
