I liked the Dabo demos a lot, but I couldn't get it to run either. It pops
up a file dialog asking for python file and when I give it one, it closes
and nothing happens. Maybe it's a Windows thing. I use Windows XP for
development, although I have had some of my scripts run on Ubuntu/Debian.
