wxMac: dimmed statusbar text after hiding/minimizing the app

Hi all,
I have the following problem with wxStatusBar:
- The status bar has 3 fields (default + 2)
- The text for the last 2 cells changes infrequently
- After hiding the app and then reshowing it the text in those cells looks
dimmed (gray) until I set new text.
Is it a bug or an unwanted feature :P ?
What is the best way to bypass it?
