FWIW, and it seems Mac specific.  Just tried it on Vista and the Caption 
shows were it should.

What version of wxPython are you running?  I am on:

# Python 2.5 (r25:51908, Sep 19 2006, 09:52:17) [MSC v.1310 32 bit (Intel)]
# wxPython 2.8.3.0, Boa Constructor 0.5.2
