Your best bet is to install a pre-build binary, which you can get from 
either the wxPython download site or

pythonmac.org/packages

There's other good stuff there as well.

These are built against the "Universal Framework Build" of Python, which 
you can get form the same pythonmac site, or from python.org.

If you really need to build it yourself, it should be doable, but make 
sure to follow ALL the build instructions very carefully -- it's a bit 
tricky.
