I don't know that it will make any difference, but you may want to try 
using the versions that are pre-compiled, python from:

pythonmac.org/packages

wxPython from the wxPython web site (the latest version hasn't made it 
to pythonmac yet)

At least you'll get another data point.

By the way, I have no idea if this is related, but we've been having 
trouble here with an app that's bundled up with py2app. It runs fine on 
about 3/4 of the machines we tested on, but crashes on a few. We're 
still trying to see the pattern! i.e. it's worked on Intel and PPC, and 
a couple versions of the OS.
