Oh, yeah, great idea. Let's re-invent the wheel again!

This has already been done by the Dabo guys. They've simplified and
Pythonized the ugly stuff in wxPython, but instead of adopting their
approach and building on what they've done, let's pretend that its not
out there, and that we need to start from scratch again! What a great
use of time and effort!
