I also posted this problem on a wxmpl mailing list and Ken, the author of
wxmpl, emailed me back saying that the problem I ran into was fixed in the
latest svn of wxmpl, but I am currently running into numpy errors as to
they are working on the 1.0 beta releases.  I'll let you guys know if the
error was fixed with the latest svn when i get the numpy errors to
disappear
