If you use message filtering, it's not big deal. All the messages from 
this group  go to their own folder, so I only need to look at them when 
I have the time -- and then deleting ones that don't interest me is 
easier than scanning through a digest.

Mailing lists were a nightmare before I started filtering my email (and 
I use thunderbird too)
