For a lot of things there is a "wxPython Note" in the C++ docs that help out with some of the differences, but that still doesn't give the whole picture. There is also the wxPython-specific docs, currently at http://wxpython.wxcommunity.com/docs/api/, which are generated directly from the Python classes and their docstrings. Although these docs are not totally fleshed out yet, they do serve a useful purpose in that if there isn't a method listed in these docs then you know for sure that it isn't in the Python classes.
