Event handling in Console mode application

I'm quite new to wxWidgets. We only want to create non-GUI (console mode)
application.

Building a Console mode application I OK, but what about event handling in
console-mode ? Is it possible ? does exists examples which I can use as
reference ? Every tutorials or example I found are wxFrame based .. :-\
