MS VC8 SP1, MS update and wxW static libs

Hi folks!

I just had a problem with running a wxW-pimped app from the console that
showed "The system cannot execute the specified program." and refused to
start. When I doubleclicked it from the explorer, a "This application
failed to start, because the application configuration is incorrect..."
popup was shown.

Background:

I ran MS update on the machine. VC8 SP1 was installed as critical update.
The VC runtime files (incl. manifests) were updated, too. I forgot to
rebuild my wxW libraries. I rebuilt my app and statically linked with the
(old) wx-libs. I shipped my package with the new runtime and the new
manifest in the same directory (no WinSxs etc.). The above problems showed
up. Rebuilding wxW fixed them.
