feature request: optionally deleting the whole chain of event handlers, when window is deleted

 Yes, it probably would be a good idea. It's not a trivial change however
as I think this page needs to be changed in a relatively major way to make
it clear that it speaks about top level windows only from the beginning
instead of just mentioning this in passing near the very end. If anybody
can try to reorganize it to make this more clear, it would be very
welcome...
