 It certainly builds in many, many different configurations as you can see
http://buildbot.tt-solutions.com/wx/ (red indicates problems but they are
mostly with tests, the library itself builds successfully almost
everywhere).

 Give us some credit, we do keep svn at least compilable almost all of the
time.

 The scripts for generation of Debian packages haven't been updated yet as,
I believe, was already written. You can still do "configure && make install"
yourself however.
