Bug fixes are all I am really concerned with right now.

Lukasz Michalski had replied that this may be a known issue and there is 
at least one patch available:

Frankly, I was overwhelmed with the amount of discussion and the number 
of patches available for direct and indirect corrections to the bug. If 
you have a recommendation for a specific one that I can apply against 
2.8.x.
