How to set a nice background to a frame?

Hi:

I have not found a cool tutorial about how to set a cool background in a wx 
App.

Now I have the whole program running but I just can apply a solid bakground 
color.

I had a fixed bitmap with the full size of my GUI but when running in XFCE 
that bitmap was no displayed rigth.  So I choose to disabled it, 
understanding that It wasn't the righ way.

There is an option, maybe wxAUI.  rigth?

I Just need to set a background as background or an animation, will be 
better.!

Any Ideas??
