...sorry, don't want to get into the whole thing again, but I should  
have mentioned that I'm on python, not C++.  I forgot that I was  
posting to the wx forum, not the wx-python one.  Ooops!

If I remember correctly (and checking the wxpython HTML pages, I seem  
to be) the wxIPC classes (like wxTCPServer) don't exist on python.   
Sigh.
