Using wx4j for browser based apps

Hi:

I'm using SUSE 10.2 and wxWidgets 2.6.3. I'm looking at the wx4j 
project since I already know how to program using wxWidgets. What I 
wan to do is to set up a service where a user can access an 
accounting system via web, using only a browser. Wx4j seems like it 
can do the job, but I was wondering if any of you has had any 
experience with it. I see it has not been upgraded since 2004, and it 
is linked against wxWidgets 2.4.2.

Anothe alternative would be AJAX, but that would mean learning 
something entirely different. Any help would be appreciated.
