card color?

I just got around to installing and building 2.8.0 on my WinXP/Cygwin box. I 
built the Forty Thieves demo, and all the cards show up black on white, even 
the red cards. I get the same behavior with wxGTK, wxMotif, wxMSW, and wxX11 
(all on the same box). I don't think I did anything too unusual in the 
configuration (--enable-shared --enable--monolithic --- disable-stl 
---disable-precomp-headers).

Everything else seems to work fine, including my apps that do colorful 
things, though I'll admit I haven't tested all the demos and samples.

Anyone else seeing (or not seeing) similar results?
