MSVC 8.0 (VC++ 2005 Express) DLL Linker Errors

No, I did not get any errors when I built wxWidgets
library files using MSVC 8.0. I was very careful to
install and build everything in a completely clean
environment (that is, no MSVC 6.0 stuff whatsoever in
the MSVC 8.0 machine).

Indeed, that is exactly what I did - and that is why I
am so baffled by the problem, especially when the
samples compile, link and run. I know that I will
eventually solve it - and when I do, I will post the
solution here - so that everybody can laugh. :)
