Slow painting in wxGtk2.8.4

Hi,
 I am using wxGtk2.8.4 on RHEL(unicode, shared, release). The "painting"
in this version is too slow compared to 2.6.3. If we check the drawing
sample in 2.6.3 and 2.8.4 we can feel that. 

I am saying painting is slow in the sense, if I scroll the mouse in a
wxScrolledWindow to and fro too frequently, the window is not able to
cop up with that ie. the scrolling finishes only after some time. 

Is this a bug?
