wxTaskBarIcon on mac: Show in system tray?

Hey guys,

I'm finding that using wxTaskBarIcon on wxMac-2.8.4, the icon is
showing in the dock, not the system tray (up where the clock,
wireless, etc.. is).  Further, It also creates an application menu for
the taskbar.  Has there been any discussion on moving it from the dock
to the taskbar?  It's seems like the taskbar would be the more
appropriate place to put it.
