Combo box on Solaris GTK1

As shown in the small attachment, I have created a combo box and a text
box and the program is compiler with 2.6.3, GTK 1 on Solaris 8.

The problem is that the combo box is too small - the descender of the
"g" is cut off.

How is it possible to make the box a bit bigger so that it matches the
size of the text box?
