Yes, back when I used 2.6.3 I had the same issue. I think this is bound 
to the configuration (read: #defines) in setup.h

The OP talked about minimizing the code, so I guess he used a setup.h 
with a lot of disabled features. Even the actual HEAD version has 
compile and/or link errors, if you disable certain features.
