Note that you need to manually subscribe to the new list if you want to continue to get mail related to wxWidgets on OS/2. The old list will soon be dead (if it isn't already). As a side effect we're hoping for somewhat improved spam filtering. Such technical issues aside, I think after a couple of changes that did break things, wx-2.9.0 should now be back to compiling with gcc-3.3.5 again, the "select"-related problems with Watcom do persist, though. Also note that the EMX headers are getting really long in the tooth, missing many modern includes. > > Also, I wonder if it would be possible to point gcc-3.3.5 to the include and > libraries of gcc-2.8.1 to use the old (X11-compatible) EMX libraries with the > new compiler... > I'm pretty sure this is not doable. What I have done is compiled the X11 dlls with gcc-3.3.5 and then by using libpathstrict and beginlibpath and using tcpip to communicate to the Xserver most things work. To use tcpip instead of pipes you need to use something like -display 127.0.0.1:0 instead of -display :0 Haven't tested wx though Dave From Stefan.Neis@t-online.de Mon Mar 31 00:12:48 2008 Return-Path: X-Original-To: wx-os2pm@lists.wxwidgets.org Delivered-To: wx-os2pm-lists.wxwidgets.org@riobu.com Received: from mailout04.sul.t-online.de (mailout04.sul.t-online.de [194.25.134.18]) by riobu.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id 48C8831457E for ; Mon, 31 Mar 2008 00:12:48 -0700 (PDT) Received: from fwd31.aul.t-online.de by mailout04.sul.t-online.de with smtp id 1JgEBy-0004O5-02; Mon, 31 Mar 2008 09:12:30 +0200 Received: from smtp.t-online.de (VgKYR6ZOZh+znt8XGbSky02GkUFk15rIa-pY-JOviV8oqqxhu4nV7onKQ3ErvghwEH@[217.226.244.128]) by fwd31.aul.t-online.de with smtp id 1JgEBn-0ctauu0; Mon, 31 Mar 2008 09:12:19 +0200 To: "Paul Smedley" Priority: Normal Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Mailer: Post Road Mailer for OS/2 (Green Edition Ver 3.0) Date: Mon, 31 Mar 2008 09:12:18 +0100 From: Stefan.Neis@t-online.de Message-ID: <1JgEBn-0ctauu0@fwd31.aul.t-online.de> X-ID: VgKYR6ZOZh+znt8XGbSky02GkUFk15rIa-pY-JOviV8oqqxhu4nV7onKQ3ErvghwEH X-TOI-MSGID: 4de6feaa-7228-468a-ad21-999c1b741788 X-Mailman-Approved-At: Mon, 31 Mar 2008 08:32:02 -0700 Subject: [wx-os2pm] Re: [wx-os2] Trunk and wx-2.9.0 X-BeenThere: wx-os2pm@lists.wxwidgets.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list Reply-To: wx-os2pm@lists.wxwidgets.org List-Id: wx-os2pm.lists.wxwidgets.org List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 31 Mar 2008 07:12:48 -0000 Hi, > going back thru old emails.....
