P.S. it occurs to me that instead of building a separate demo,
we can of course point to an application that runs on multiple
platforms, such as DialogBlocks or wxDesigner. They're reasonably
sophisticated apps which should give a good idea of what
wxWidgets is capable of, and DB can be used to compile wxWidgets.

OTOH, a simpler, smaller, easier-to-install demo would be good too.

We could have a page with a few small demos, then links to other
apps that have binaries on several platforms.
