If it helps, here is the oppinion of just a non-important wxUser:
1. I am more interested on maintaining my applications running than in
having support for the latest innovations.
2. Also, I am tired of having to re-learn everything constantly. I
would appreciate very much that a new wxWidgets version don't force me
to learn something totally different but having the same name.
3. I never had a bad felling about Microsoft. They have good and bad
products. But I ended up hating Microsoft for not ensuring a soft
migration path. For example, each time they released a new version of
VB they didn't care about existing applications. It was a lot of
effort and money for us, the un-important users, to keep applications
updated. The last movement to VB.net is a nightmare. .NET is very nice
if you start from scrach but not if you have to migrate your existing
applications. I wouldn't like to find a situation like that with the
migration to wxTNG. Probably I will left wxWidgets in that case.
4. INMO I think a certain number of wxUsers (at least me ;-)) would
appreciate as much compatibility as possible and a soft migration path
to new features and capabilities. Difficult, I know. Good luck..
Hope this might help you.
Regards,
cecilio
