wxMediaCtrl is a substantial control that is both broad and deep (i.e. 
it does a lot and it requires a lot of understanding to write and hooks 
into many other system libraries). Breakages are unfortunate but almost 
expected with such substantial changes like those in the list revision. 
It's not like the stable branch blew up or anything (though I don't read 
media control stuff closely right now). I personally don't see why it 
shouldn't be continued where it is now, as part of wxWidgets. It sounds 
like you're wanting to remove it and that just doesn't "make sense" (TM) 
to me. Others' mileage may vary, of course.
