It will be at some point, but there's still a lot of work that needs to
be done with it before it's made the default. I need to at least get a
majority of the guides listed on the Table of Contents page reorganized
and categorized in the new Guides section on that page before I'm
content with it's progress to be made the default, otherwise I'd be
cutting off new visitors from most of those guides except the IDE based
ones currently.
I've been rolling around ideas on what to do with the IDE guides since
somewhere around 50% of the traffic to the wiki (based on statistics
recorded by the wiki) is directed to them. It would be nice to have a
system in place for directing users to the appropriate guides as well
some basic layout for how those guides are split up based on goals
(building wxWidgets, installing wxWidgets, building your application, or
installing your application, etc), platform (Linux/Mac/Windows/Other),
build system, compiler and IDE. A lot of these IDE guides need to be
broken out into smaller goal specific articles rather than an all-in-one
solution like some are as most users have mixed environments based on
goals. I've got a couple ideas that might make maintaining and keeping
these guides up-to-date a lot easier as well.
Long-term goals involve putting together separate pages for each of the
major sections on that new page, and cutting back that page to one
screen's worth (without scrolling) of information directing users to
each of those separate pages so that the front page isn't cluttered, but
acts as a good starting point for everything on the wiki (unlike how the
current front page is which isn't very informative).

Bryan Petty
