Yes, I realize this and it's working nicely in theory and most of the
time
(probably more than 99%) in practice, it's just the remaining
pathological
cases, I'm worrying about (and that I'm encountering every now and
then),
e.g. (just a made up example because I don't remember the last "real"
one)
a debian box without internet connectivity. I transfer the desired
package
on a CD, am told that packages are missing, collect required packages
the
next day, come back only to be told that those new packages in turn
require
other packages and so on ...
To summarize, I think that having lots of packages could be a problem in
unusual situations, while I don't see the compensating advantage on the
other
side.
