That was all news to me too, but I just took a look at the current
roadmap page, and it does indeed mention hybrid
distributed/centralized operation as a long-term goal now. I don't
recall seeing that there before either. And I did look a few months
back when I became curious what SVN's answer to Mercurial and Git and
the lot would be. At the time I didn't notice anything about
distributed on the roadmap, but maybe I didn't look hard enough...
