as a bystander I wanted to ask what the problems were that the 
traditional chain were, as I've published the manual once (to see 
whether my doc commits were ok) using a few defines and standard 
pdflatex, there were a few syntactical errors in our tex files but once 
they were corrected things ran ok - at least for what I was using it ...
