Initial Comment:
As far as I can tell from testing my app, the AUI sample app, and browsing the source code, there appears to be no way to navigate between AUI panes (docked or undocked) using the keyboard.

This makes it extremely inconvenient for users that may be unable to use a mouse, and potentially unusable in countries with anti-disability discrimination legislation like the UK.

A fix or workaround would be appreciated :-)

I agree we really need to do something about this, and I'll aim to set up
a wxWidgets bounty and talk to the Kirix folk about it. It's not going to
be a trivial fix but it's important for the reasons you mention.
