 It was me who changed it after being told by a patch submitter that it was
possible.

 I think it's definitely better than not getting updates for the existing
reports. And if somebody doesn't like getting those, it's easy enough to
filter them out. It's unfortunately not as easy to filter out just one of
the duplicates which you get when you modify an item yourself but I guess
we'll just have to live with this...
