There is an option that can be selected that controls whether only the
creation of a tracker item is sent to the email address, or if all
updates of the item is sent. Originally we had it set to only send the
creation notice, but somebody (or maybe a SF software update) must have
changed it. Personally I like it better this way too. Previously I
would visit almost all of the new tracker items and click the Monitor
button so I would get those extra emails anyway, now I don't have to do
that extra step.
