2.8 release schedule ?

Hi

what schedule could we aim at for 2.8 ? I'd favour a release by the end
of the year, if possible, would be a little more than 18 months since
2.6.0. Main features from my part would be transparency / alpha support
on drawing (exposing the wxGraphicContext classes that are used on OSX
for other platforms) and on windows. And a animation infrastructure with
some base classes. For Leopard I'd like to make it 64 bit ready as well
(getting rid of Quickdraw completely)
