Many thanks for this. I just tried wxAUI sample and it works however there
seem to be small redrawing problem after vetoing. Steps to reproduce (XP):
1. launch aui sample
2. Menu->Perspectives->All Panes
3. Click on [X] corner of pane titled "Text Pane with Hide Prompt"
4. Say "No" to dialog
5. [X] of this pane remains focused but it is not because my mouse fly over
other panes already.

BTW: I still have a problem with pane "transparency" under XP as described at

I'm still unsure my fix is the right thing.
