I'm curious too. I reverted it and now it's working *shrugs*. Maybe
ccache fooled me, or I just did something wrong. All clear now anyway.

And it's indeed a better way. Maybe both would make sense?. I think the
app can expect to need to read files on the current directory, even if
it changed it for other purposes.
