[all] 2.7.0 and releases organization in general

 Hello,

 I don't know what to do with this release. We discussed it so many times
already that everybody else is probably as tired of this discussion as I
am, but without any results so far. As I'm leaving on vacation in a week,
I'd like to either finally make this release or know for sure that we don't
make it until September.

 Personally, I'm still very much for releasing it right now (with all the
bugs, distribution problems and not yet applied patches) but I simply don't
know if we can organize ourselves to do it without Julian. We really need
someone to be responsible for the releases, are there any volunteers?
